CABBAGE ROLLS

Some times ago I asked to afriend of mine from Romania a typical dish of his country and he sais cabbage,  that informed that original cabbage rolls and he sent this receipe ,  I asked alsoto another romanian frinedneed cokk 3-4 hours while this receipe is 40 minutes rolls and he sent this receipe..that is available also on youtube channel.

This receipe is a ten plus, and it impress family and friends.

Ingredients:

  • 3lb ground pork
  • 4 cup dice onions
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2tsp paprika
  • 2tsp VEgeta (optional)
  • 1 8oz Original Phildelphia cream cheese
  • 1 large size cabbage
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 5 bay leaves
  • 1 stick thyme
  • 1 8oz tomatoes sauce
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cups sauerkraut
  • Fresh shredded cabbage
Directions:

Fry onions in oil.
Add salt, black pepper and paprika.
Stir and fry for 3-4 minutes
In a bowl combine ground pork, fry onions, rice, cream cheese, vegeta until all incororted.
Steam the cabbage leaves.
Prepare the pot with a layer of shredded cabbage, sauerkraut, bay leaves and time stick.
Start roll the cabbage rolls and place in a pot.
In top cover with shredded cabbage and sauerkraut than the tomato sauce.
Add water until you cover 3/4 from the cabbage rolls.
Cover and boil for 30 to 40 minutes.

N.b: is better to stick in the freezer one cabbage for 2 days then when you defrost the cabbage do not need to be steamed anymore when you want to make the cabbage rolls.
