WEEK END IDEAS IN ITALY UNDER €200


Every time summer is coming, everyone in office or in the park starts to talk about future holiday, where they are going to go, who is lucky and doesnt have a budget to respect and time to be on holiday usually choose luxury place outside the country; while if you have a family, you have a budget to respect and you must to work, having only week end free or you choose to stay in your hometown and do a sort of staycation or looking on web for last minutes offers and good deals you can enjoy your little escapes form town, being on a budget.
I remember when I was in middle school and high school (until the moment I started to work during summer) and I had almost 3 months free, sometimes I miss that days but now I can say that I enjoy discover new places...so first suggestion is to choose place that are not so turistic, because so you can find real gems and have affordable prices and yes 2 days are not equal to a full month of freedom, bun enjoy the experience... and when your collegues will return at office you will have a lot of things to say, you visited more places than him/her!!!

Some ideas under €200 in Italy..hei I'm italian, i am on a budget, I have only week end free and I love my country and also if it is seems small on globe it is rich of interesting places!!!


  • CASTELL'ARQUATO (PC): Have you ever seen the movie "LADY HAWKE" with Michelle Pfeiffer? well this city is been the set of that amazing and romantic movie (I suggest to watch it, you will love). This is a medieval spot, where you can see interesting sightseeings, and don't worry for hotel you can find affordable restaurant and hotels (Example: l'Angiolina is a nice place where you can eat and sleep) A total cost for 2 days for 2 person is €108 (€54 per person) for more info visit here
  • CORINALDO (AN) if you are not sure if you would prefer to spend days on sea or in a mountain, well here you have boths, it is a nice city also if it is called "the city of crazy people", if you like historic place it is perfect becuase everything is almost equal to '400, you can taste really good wine, visit museum about costumes and popoular traditions, listen lgends. more details here.   • TRIORA (IM) If you want a week end full of culture (no sea it is far at least 30 km), this is the perfect place, you can see amazing monuments as ethnographic museum and witchcraft, you will see the sign nobilty and witchcraft signs that have left.   • CANALE DI TENNO (TN) you are an artist or art lover? visit this lovely places situade between Garda's lake and the Alps, here you will feel the artist breath and you cannot miss those spots: Casa degli artisti, the medieval castle, and if you want to have a moment of relax and sunbathing, go to Tenno's lake that is also called the Blue lake, surrounded by magnificient forest.   • PITIGLIANO (GR) if you are a food (and wine) lover this is week end perfect for you, plus if you like to know history you can see Hebrews traces here since '400, it is called "little/small Jerusalem. In your "slow food tour" you will must to try also oil. Real original with old methods has a great taste that is completely different from that you usually find in your grocery store.   • SPECCHIA (LE) This small town has been voted "Best rural village of Italy", it is situated between 2 seas: Ionio and Adriatic sea, it is been choosed also as set for music video, there are a lot of testimonials by baroque art; plus you must to visit the place where there is the column of immunity. Legend says that touching it in the past you were not arrested, there are a lot of historical buildings from '700 but them are been renovated and now are hotels. From North to South there are unlimited choiches for your holidays or better for your little escapes, discovering new places, new favors and no bankrupt. I suggest to put in your baggage always : a diary to write your sensations about the places, a camera to take picture and in every place buy a postcard as memory of your trip (I have a collections of postcards).
